The Cable Game has been outspoken on the campaign by MSNBC to disguise its opinion programming as news, even going so far as to let left-wing opinion writers masquerade as “reporters.” Now they’ve turned it up to “11”—it’s going to be hard to top this.
When news breaks, whom does MSNBC turn to? Why, their new breaking news reporter Touré. You know, the far-left 9/11 truther who doesn’t believe Al Qaeda crashed a plane into the Pentagon. And who, on MSNBC’s embarrassing rip-off of The Five, moronically insisted that states have gerrymandered US Senate districts. (Clue for Touré: it is impossible to “gerrymander” Senate seats.) Today he was reporting “breaking news” on Andrea Mitchell Reports, and then on MSNBC Live with Thomas Roberts. Two programs MSNBC continues to insist are part of their daytime block of straight news coverage. (Don’t everybody laugh at once, now.)
Can you picture Bret Baier opening Special Report by tossing to his breaking news correspondent, Sean Hannity? The “media writers” would have a collective cow. As they should. Because real journalists should cover the news, not partisan opinion writers posing as “reporters.” But MSNBC has a stable full of partisans masquerading as journalists (Alex Seitz-Wald, Emma Margolin, etc). And now they have one of their opinion hosts—a 9/11 truther, no less—pretending to report breaking news. There’s “faux news” for you.
The way MSNBC is going it’s only going to get better. Here’s a shot grabbed by ace Cable Gamer Johnny Dollar, showing an MSNBC host acting as a gatekeeper to keep the press (in this case FNC’s Leland Vittert) from questioning the Baltimore “let them loot” mayor.
MSNBC is now protecting the powerful from the press. That’s some “news organization.”
